STEM Programs - School Holiday Edition

Our STEM programs - holiday edition - are suitable for children between 6 to 12 years old.

Besides acquiring interdisciplinary STEM concepts, the students will also sharpen & strengthen their visual-spatial, analytical, computational skills as well as inventive thinking.

Class size is small and there are some popular timings among the dates, so confirm your child's registration early!

Or simply click on this link and we'll guide you through to select the suitable holiday program for your child.

WeDo 2.0 Robotics
For 6-year-old

WeDo Accelerated Basic Robotics session is ideal to kick-start robotics learning for 6-year-olds!

What does the single session cover?

In the robot building segment, the teachers will observe and guide the students through robot building techniques, utilising their fine motor and visual-spatial skills. There will be verbal illustration & explanation on the basic coding concepts to move the robot.

WeDo Intermediate sessions are the continuation program after completing the Basic program. It consists of 3 sessions of 3 hours each.

There are 6 different robots that enable the students to apply & strengthen their robot building techniques and use some simple machine concepts. In the coding segment, the students will be applying the coding concepts learnt from the Basic lessons and more in-depth coding concepts that utilise the sensor’s input for the robot to execute specific tasks.

At the end of each robot lesson, students will be given challenges to solve using their analytical thinking and inventiveness as there are no standard instructions available for them to follow.

WeDo 2.0 Scratch Robotics
For 7-year-old

WeDo Scratch Robotics Basic + Sensors program is ideal to kick-start the robotics learning experience for 7-year-old children using the popular Scratch coding platform!

The session will enable students to code with Scratch for the WeDo robot movement. Additionally, they will also learn to apply some common conditional statements with the sensor’s input in the codes. Students will use simple machine concepts in the robot building segment.  The intricate connections in the robot construction will boost their visual-spatial and fine motor skills.

WeDo Scratch Holiday Edition program is a continuation program after completing the Scratch Basic program. It consists of 3 sessions of 3 hours each.

There are 6 robots (holiday edition) that consist of more connecting steps and intricate parts that can enhance their robot building techniques. In the coding segment, the students will learn & apply more coding concepts that consists of more conditional statements, inequality symbols, decimal numbers, etc., that utilise the sensor’s input, for the robots to execute specific tasks.

Spike Prime Robotics
For 8 years old & above

Spike Prime Basic Movement session is ideal to kick-start the robotics learning experience for children 8-years and older!

The session emphasises on the coding concept using Scratch coding platform for Spike Prime. The students will learn & apply coding concepts using seconds, centimeters, rotation and degrees to move and turn the robot accurately. Some simple arithmetic calculations, decimal numbers and angles will be used to obtain or as the value for the code’s parameter.

Spike Prime Sensors session is to enable the students to utilise sensors for the robot to execute specific tasks.

Students will learn about the 4 sensors’ characteristics and how to integrate them onto the robot. Learn & apply the coding concepts to utilise the sensor’s input to execute specific tasks.

Spike Prime Continue Mission sessions are to develop & strengthen the students’ analytical thinking while they attempt the missions. There are no standard building & coding instructions for the students to follow and there is more than 1 possible way to accomplish the mission successfully. Thus, the best approach seen by the students to accomplish the mission successfully has to align with pragmatism in their robot working mechanism & structure, as well as the coding for an accurate execution.
