October Robotics

‘October Robotics’ is suitable for children who is new to robotics!

The 4 lessons would enable your child to understand & apply the fundamental coding concepts & robot building techniques.

We have customised a 4 lessons package consisting of the fundamental of coding concepts + application lessons to enable your child to understand the essence of robotics.

The lessons would enable the students to code to move the robot and to understand the importance of coding sequencing to execute specific tasks. In the Spike Prime robotics, the students would be able to code to move & turn the robot with precise accuracy using decimals.

The lessons are hands-on that engage students through a series of given interesting challenges. To reap the educational benefits from the lessons, the students are required to have a good level of concentration. Else, they will find the pace too fast.

For 5- & 6- year-old
WeDo robotics

The majority of the students in this age group would be new to robotics, thus the lessons are structured to enable them to learn & apply proper robot building techniques, basic coding concepts and the application of the sensors. The coding blocks are pictorial using ‘drag & drop’ method to construct the coding string, which is easy for the students to understand and apply.

The robots are interesting to build and the students would learn & understand from the application on how the sensors, belt & pulley system, gears and coding concepts, work together in the respective robots to execute the required task(s).

The 4 lessons are on Saturdays: 1, 8, 15, 22 October

The fees are: Normal $340, after special discount: $290

For 7- year-old
WeDo Scratch robotics

The lessons illustrate the application of Scratch coding in WeDo robotics using text-based coding blocks to construct the coding stack. Students would also learn to use decimal numbers, angles and inequality symbols (greater and less than) in the parameter of the code, to enable the robot to execute specific task(s).

For 8 years old & above
Spike Prime robotics

The lessons emphasize the coding concepts using Scratch coding platform for Spike Prime.

The students will learn & apply coding concepts to move and turn the robot accurately using specific duration in seconds & rotation. Some simple arithmetic calculations, decimals and angles will be illustrated for them to obtain/ use as the value for the code’s parameter.

In the application lessons, the students would be given missions to attempt. They would be guided to identify & leverage on the details & constraints of the mission, to conceive an idea to build their robot as there are no standard instructions provided. Thereafter, the students have to map-out the best route for their robot to move to the mission site to execute the mission.

Such experiential learning immerses the students with interdisciplinary concepts in the realm of STEM, will strengthen their analytical, logical & critical thinking skills. It will also enable them to realise that inventiveness and pragmatism need to go hand in hand while creating their solution from scratch.

The 4 lessons are on Saturdays: 1, 8, 15, 22 October

The fees are: Normal $410, after special discount: $360
