KinderSTEM Holiday is open to both current and non-KinderSTEM students.  Our workshops aims to trigger the creator in the young ones, help them make the connection to the real world as well as to work on their fine motor skills and visual-spatial skills.

Our themed building workshops:

Dream Garden - Create your dream garden of plants, flowers, pets and even a house

Theme Park - The merry-go-round or the pirate ship?

Treasure Island^ - Solve the code and use the treasure loot to purchase materials from the
friendly merchant to leave the island!

Fishing^ - Build your own fishing rod with a pulley mechanism and solve math to capture the fishes.

^ suitable for children who are at least 5 years-old

WEDO 2.0

For our 3-hour basic course, the students will be building their first robot, understanding the key programming blocks, constructing programming strings as well as learning the functions and applications of the two sensors.

The students are required to work in teams of two to collaborate and maneuver their robots through a series of obstacles. Fun, exciting, purposeful-play and sense-making are part of the learning objectives!

In our Mindstorms EV3 Basic Movements, students will learn how to program their EV3 robots to move forward and backward, as well as to learn to program 2 different types of turns. There are simple challenges for the students to apply some mathematics concepts in the programming to move the robot with precision.

In Mindstorms EV3 Basic Sensors, students will learn the functions and applications of the four sensors - Ultrasonic, Colour, Touch & Gyro. The use of the sensor(s) will immediately enhance the robot’s effectiveness to meet any given challenges.

These special workshops are designed to be suitable for students without prior experience! For students with WeDo 2.0 knowledge, they are welcome to join us as well to find out how to use the WeDo robotics kit set to build other interesting models.

Our Mindstorms workshop is an extension of our MIndstorms Basic Movement program as students will have the opportunity to design, build and program their own robot to complete the challenges!
