The accelerated version of our WeDo Robotics Foundation Basics course requires the students to build their first robot named Milo – a space rover with its 2 sensors. Basic programming will also be taught.

WeDo Play-gineering

We have 8 different one-time workshops for children who are 6 years old to attend as trial lesson(s). However, the Gears & Applications and Cable Car, require the children to be inventive to connect the parts together to make into a robot because there is no instruction to lead them.

 

We hope after these lesson(s), the students can decide whether this program is for them or not. We welcome them to progress with us, to enhance their proficiency on programming & robot building, visual-spatial, inventiveness and computational thinking, as the robots are getting tougher by the lessons.

 

Children who just want to experience about WeDo robot building can join these workshops. As there are different robots to be built, do let us know which you want to build and we will arrange accordingly.

 

Please take note that we do not have a fixed schedule for a specific robot as the lessons are not related to each other. We believe this provides flexibility to the parents/ students as they do not need to wait until a specific date for the lesson, as we understand the year end family holiday is also taking place.

The students need to adopt ABC learning attitude in these workshops to be able to accomplish the learning objectives because there are no instructions for them to follow. The teacher is available to provide guidance and advises after the student has done his/ her part or has made the beginning but crucial step.

Apart from the above, they need to be Inventiveness, adopt Inter-Disciplinary Thinking, Critical Thinking & Sense Making while building their robots & programming it to be successful. They will also learn additional concept applications like:

  •        What is friction and its application on traction;

  •        What is torque and its application on speed & power;

  •        What is rack & pinion and its application;

  •        How to use the sensors to regulate speed;

  •        Belt & pulley versa Gears, etc.

WeDo Parent-Child

Parents and their children can learn some basics of WeDo 2.0 robotics together. Parent and child will each get to build their own robot and learn to program it.  Great opportunity to get a taste of what your child will get to learn in our WeDo classes and definitely an interesting bonding parent-child activity
